Porter Scott Names Three New Partners in 2025
Porter Scott added three new partners to their partnership group. Dylan DeWit, Matthew Gross, and Cassandra “CJ” Ninke have all been elevated to shareholder status as of January 1, 2025.
Dylan Dewit represents California employers in a wide array of employment-related litigation. He takes pride in serving clients as a skilled advocate and advisor, helping employers navigate California’s complex and ever-changing legal landscape. Dylan defends employers in wage and hour litigation, including complex class actions and PAGA claims, as well as matters involving claims for wrongful termination, disability accommodation, and employee leave issues. He also advises clients on a range of personnel policies and practices, including compensation plans, employee hiring, leave issues, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee accommodations. Dylan represents clients in industries including healthcare, trucking, automotive dealerships, construction, and government entities.
Dylan grew up in Colusa County, where he worked for local rice and alfalfa growers. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Chico State, he went on to graduate from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. Dylan joined Porter Scott as a law clerk while attending law school. After passing the bar exam in November 2019, Dylan became an associate attorney with Porter Scott’s employment litigation team. Dylan has represented employers of all sizes in arbitration hearings, federal and state court, and in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Dylan spends his free time playing pickup basketball, scuba diving, and driving his wife (and, probably, neighbors) crazy by playing his drums.
Matt Gross represents and defends California public entities in civil litigation matters involving police practices, personal injury, and employment disputes. Matt grew up in Fresno, California before attending McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge, worked at the Union Pacific Railroad Company. After law school, Matt continued to work and represent public entities in northern California in civil litigation before joining Porter Scott in 2019.
Matt takes tremendous pride in serving clients as a skilled advocate and advisor, helping public entities across California navigate legal issues in the 21st century. Matt has successfully argued and briefed cases in state and federal court, as well as the Third Appellate District Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District Court of Appeal, and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. When not in a courtroom, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and their young toddler, and, when free time permits, enjoying the open road on his motorcycle.
CJ Ninke is best described as hardworking, loyal, passionate, and no-nonsense. She inherited her work ethic from her parents who instilled in her the importance of hard work and dedication. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2016, CJ followed in her father’s footsteps and graduated from McGeorge School of Law in 2019. After graduating law school, CJ joined Porter Scott as an Attorney-in-Waiting in September 2019 and married her husband Nick a month later. After passing the bar exam in November 2019, CJ dedicated herself to excelling as an attorney. She quickly proved to be an exceptional asset to the firm, and it was clear early on that she possessed the ideal skills to become a great litigator. CJ has tried jury trials as well as binding arbitrations, and she has vast experience in a wide range of practice areas. CJ also recognizes the importance of self-care through retail therapy and curling up with her fur babies.
We look forward to their continued contributions to the success and growth of the firm.
