Martin has represented professionals ranging from accountants to real estate professionals, to escrow professionals, to small and large business owners, to public entities, and enjoys the unique challenges that each case presents. A native of Alberta, Canada, Martin strives to bring a fresh perspective to every problem that his clients bring to him.

A graduate, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and a member of the McGeorge Law Review, Martin has been practicing law since 2004. He became a shareholder at Porter Scott in 2011 and has focused his practice on business litigation, real estate litigation, representation of professionals, and lender liability litigation, along with business transactions and business counseling. Throughout his career, Martin has represented a variety of private clients, insurance company clients, and public entity clients in a broad range of litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Martin has focused particularly in the areas of business disputes involving both for profit and non-profit ventures, including claims for breach of fiduciary duty, excessive compensation, involuntary dissolution, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair business practices. Martin has also represented clients in the area of lender liability and commercial loan litigation, real estate disputes, and contract disputes. Martin represents a wide range of professionals in claims related to standard of care concerns including accountants, escrow officers, real estate professionals, and investment counselors. Martin also represents clients in transactional matters including the preparation of governing documents and formation of businesses, governance issues, the purchase and sale of businesses, and protection of business information.
