Colleen Howard successfully defended a national retail chain in an action brought by a customer alleging assault, battery, false imprisonment, negligent infliction of emotional distress, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy. Plaintiff claimed that she was chased, handcuffed, and searched by the retailer’s employees, who suspected her of shoplifting.
