Porter Scott is excited to announce the addition of its newest shareholder, Jihan El Saouda
Jihan, originally born in Australia, was raised in Lebanon. Despite an early fascination with medicine, after witnessing injustice and seeing firsthand the unequal treatment of women in Lebanon, Jihan realized that her calling was to become a lawyer and, at 18, she returned to Australia to attend Australian National University where she obtained a Master’s degree in International Law. She moved to the United States in 2008 and obtained her law degree from the University of La Verne College of Law. Jihan began her legal career practicing family law and quickly sought out a position at Porter Scott in the medical malpractice division where she could combine her love of medicine and passion for advocacy. Jihan now represents physicians, nurses, and health care facilities in litigation and before licensing boards.
Jihan is known around the office for her infectiously warm personality, sharp wit, and, of course, her Australian accent. When Jihan is not in the office, she spends time with her husband, who is a local pharmacist, and their four children.
